UPCOMING EVENTS

The idea is simple. If you wish to pay corkage select your amount and 100% of the proceeds will go to our chosen organisation for the month.

For the month of June we are choosing to support Panzma. Palestinian Australian New Zealand Medical Association is a non-profit organization that was established in 2020 by a group of healthcare professionals across Australia and New Zealand, who care about fulfilling the unmet need for providing uncomprehensive health care in Palestine.

Dr Mohammed Mustafa recently spoke at Parliament house as a part of his campaign to build a dedicated children's hospital in Gaza supported by the Australian government. He spoke about his experience as an emergency doctor in the war and of the guilt he felt providing care for one critical patient over another, the horror of mass civilian casualties and the frustration of not being able to do enough.

If you missed his briefing a recording is available on David Pococks youtube channel. We’ve also linked resources to help you stay informed of the current events on the ground.

Pocock said it best in his introduction: ‘Jewish people are not prime minister Netanyahu and Gazans are not Hamas.’ There isn’t enough space and time to convey the deep history of this war and the ones that came before it. We cannot comprehend the loss, sadness, hunger and fear that the place holds. But we can make decisions that we are proud of ‘for we are at a moment in history where people will look back and judge what we did.’ - Dr Mo

You can support Dr Mo’s campaign directly, or BYO with us this June to support Panzma whilst we wait for the Australian government to do their job.

An evening with Domenica | Thursday May 8th

On Thursday May 8th, we welcome Peter Graham for an evening with Domenica.

Peter Graham has been making wine in Beechworth since 1999, when he began working in the vineyards and winery at Giaconda. During these early years, he studied oenology at Charles Sturt University while working as assistant winemaker at Giaconda until 2012, when he left to establish Domenica. The vineyard was first planted in 1996, an accord of family and friends. The original planting consisted of Chardonnay, Roussanne and Pinot Noir on the steeper south facing section of the property. Ensuing years saw a joint venture between Michel Chapoutier, Rick Kinzbrunner and Peter Graham expand plantings to feature Shiraz and Nebbiolo. With more than 25 years of experience working this vineyard site, Peter brings an intimate perspective to the celebrated Beechworth Region. The wines are thoughtfully vinified on-site in small batches to capture the diversity of aspects and clonal selections in the vineyard.

We have just 30 seats available for this evening and would love to see you there. We will be offering our Pilot menu for each guest with the choice to go by the glass, bottle or select a pairing and taste through these expressive wines. Peter will be sharing stories of his history in the Beech worth region and his approach to winemaking.
